Role : Senior Windows Engineer
Location : Bangalore
Work mode : Hybrid (2-3 Days- Work from office)
Working Hours : 5:00 PM IST to 2:00 AM IST (aligning with EST hours till 4:30 PM)
Experience : 10-12 years
Mandatory : 10+ years of experience as a Windows Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on
managing Windows environments, Azure, Active Directory, and email systems, preferably in an educational or similar environment.
Technical Expertise : Extensive experience with Windows Server, Azure administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell scripting, and email clients such as Microsoft Exchange or Office 365.

About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced Senior Windows Engineer to join our internal IT team at a leading educational institution. In this senior role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Windows-based infrastructure, including Azure environments, Active Directory, and email clients. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our IT systems, supporting the institution's academic and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Windows Infrastructure Management : Oversee the management, configuration, and maintenance of Windows servers and workstations,
ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Azure Administration : Manage and maintain Azure environments, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and other cloud-based services, to support the institution's IT infrastructure needs.
- Active Directory Management : Administer and manage Active Directory, including user and group management, Group Policy creation and maintenance, and ensuring secure and efficient directory services.
- Email Client Support : Oversee the management and support of email clients and services (e.g., Microsoft Exchange, Office 365), ensuring reliable email communication for faculty, staff, and students.
- Security and Compliance : Implement and maintain security measures, including patch management, antivirus deployment,
and system hardening, to protect against threats and ensure compliance with institutional policies and industry standards.
- System Upgrades and Optimization : Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and optimizations to enhance the performance, security, and scalability of the Windows infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting and Incident Management : Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to Windows systems, Azure environments, Active Directory, and email clients, ensuring minimal disruption to institutional operations.
- Documentation and Best Practices : Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures, and promote adherence to best practices across the IT team.
- Collaboration and Training :
Collaborate with other IT team members to support cross-functional projects and provide training and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Monitoring and Reporting : Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues, and provide regular reports on system performance, security, and availability to senior management.
- Disaster Recovery and Backup : Design and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies to ensure data integrity and continuity of operations in case of system failures.
Requirements :
- Experience : 10+ years of experience as a Windows Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on managing Windows environments, Azure, Active Directory, and email systems, preferably in an educational or similar environment.
- Technical Expertise :
Extensive experience with Windows Server, Azure administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell scripting, and email clients such as Microsoft Exchange or Office 365.
- Cloud Proficiency : Proven experience managing and optimizing cloud environments, particularly Azure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security configurations.
- Security Knowledge : Strong understanding of security best practices for Windows systems and cloud environments, including patch management, access controls, and system hardening.
- Troubleshooting Skills : Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills,
with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration : Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
- Certifications : Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft
- Certified : Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or similar are highly desirable.
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
