Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Counseling
- Meet with students to discuss their academic and career goals, helping them align their interests with potential career paths.
- Focus on three core areas:
1. Mapping student interests and skills
2. Building strong student profiles
3. Analyzing options for master’s degree programs
2. Event Ideation & Execution
- Brainstorm and plan engaging events and workshops that connect students with the higher education counseling team.
- Oversee the entire event process, from logistics and registration to post-event feedback.
- Ensure creative and interactive student engagement through these events.
3. Global Job and Market Trends Analysis
- Guide students in researching and exploring potential careers in Liberal Arts, Engineering, Management, Design, and Law by staying informed on global industry trends.
- Help students connect their academic choices to real-world career opportunities.
- Offer expert advice on job search strategies, leveraging online job boards, alumni networks, and platforms.
- Track popular subjects, destinations, and universities preferred by students at IILM.
- Stay updated on industry developments to offer the most relevant advice.
- Provide insights on how fields like Liberal Arts, Engineering, Management, Design, and Law can open doors to emerging industries.
4. Networking & Collaboration
- Build relationships with university representatives and global institutions.
- Collaborate with industry leaders to organize masterclasses and informative sessions that support students in job applications.
- Work with internal departments to promote student engagement across various initiatives.

Planning, Recording & Maintaining
- Keep a detailed record of all student meetings and interactions.
- Prepare thoroughly for student meetings and send timely reminders.
- Systematically track each student's journey using methodical tools and systems to ensure comprehensive guidance.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is typically required, though a master's degree
in counselling, education, or a related discipline is often preferred.
Strong understanding of the education field, including its benefits and potential career
paths.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with individuals
from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of career development theories and counselling techniques.
Familiarity with various industries and the ability to identify connections between
education and real-world job requirements.
Proficiency in utilizing career assessment tools and online resources for job searching
and networking.
Empathy, patience, and the ability to provide individualized guidance based on each
person's unique circumstances.
In this role, a career counsellor helps students recognize the value of their education,
equips them with the tools to navigate the job market, and empowers them to pursue
fulfilling careers that align with their passions and academic background.
