Job Description SeniorManager Finance &Accounts;
Location:Chennai/Mumbai
Weare looking for a Senior Finance Manager India based inChennai/Mumbai who will be responsible for the countrys financeactivities in coordination with the management team. This personmust have a comprehensive knowledge of the entire work of theschool to make them extremely effective.
Thisrole will report to the Global Head of Finance who reports to theIndia Management Team. They will have primary daytodayresponsibility for planning implementing managing and controllingall financialrelated activities of the company including directsupervision of all finance staff.
This will include directresponsibility for accounting finance annual audit payroll/benefitsadministration forecasting strategic planning job costing taxationproperty Insurance deal analysis and partnership compliance andprivate and institutional financing. Must be willing to gatherexternal benchmarks to develop reasonable goals and financialmodels both short and longterm.
What will youdo
- Review currentpolicies. Establish and maintain sound financial policiesprocedures systems and controls for theorganization.
- Work with the Global Head ofFinance on the annual budget process. The budget process willinclude annual and longrange operational and capital budgets.Manage the development of an annual budget budget projections forstrategic planning as well as separate budgets for each schoolcampus and the school support centerteam.
- Leadership and oversight of financialcompliance function assuring that the organization and each of itsschools have the with all authorizer state and federalrequirements.
- Maintain and update fiscalcalendar for all reporting deadlines including but not limited toaudit schedule tax reporting initiation of the annual budgetprocess and monthly close dates.
- Performingduties as required in response to requests from regulators andauditors; timely filing of all requisite forms with the appropriateauthorities
- Maintain a comprehensiveunderstanding of the Company s reports including the operatingbudget capital expenditures and annualpayroll.
- Manage and develop all accounting andfinance staff across the group as well as provide crossdepartmentalcollaboration to ensure that financial systems and solutionssupport the company s evolvingstrategy.
- Provide risk management analyses toensure Kido the regional subsidiaries and the schools proactivelyreview anticipate and address potential risks of all kindsaffecting the network.
- Oversee the maintenanceof appropriate insurance policies. Plans and carries out a riskmanagement program to protect the welfare of students and staff;protect the assets of the school and limit the liability of staffadministration and the Board. Works with insurance advisors andbrokers to ensure that adequate appropriate and costeffectiveinsurance is in force including liability property and casualtydirectors and officers workers compensation andhealthcare.
- Deliver timely reports to theleadership team school leaders FinanceCommittee and Board ofDirectors.
- Review and analyze monthly incomestatements balance sheets cash flow projections and variancereports.
- Manage and execute yearend audits andwork with external auditors to ensure clean financial audits withan unqualified opinion.
Implement any qualifications andimprovements suggested by the auditors
- Ensuresystems are in place to manage and oversee all treasury functionsincluding but not limited to bank accounts investments operatingcash credit cards and other negotiableinstruments.
- Review the current Financial&Accounting; Policies &Procedures; Manual and suggestimprovements if required for standardizing all policies andprocedures
- Strategize ways in which Kidocanimprove fiscal efficiency and effectiveness including researchingand implementing technology upgrades or online systems (accountingstorage payments etc.) to better support budgetmanagement.
- Assure that all business affairsare conducted in a legal and professional manner
- Develop and maintain strong relationships withbankers legal advisors local government oversight agencies taxbureaus and other entities as necessary.
- Workclosely with the Finance/Facilities Committee of the Schools Boardof Directors
- Serve as a contributing member ofthe schools senior leadership team
- Providesregular/ongoing updates to the Head as to the financial performanceof the school including identification of emerging issues. Makespresentations to the Head of School board and various boardcommittees as appropriate.
- In collaborationwith the HR School Head and Regional Director developrecommendations to the finance committee for annual tuitionincreases and salary increases. Recommendations include relevantsupporting data and benchmarks.
- Responsible foroversight and collection of aged accountsreceivable.
- Provide recommendations tostrategically enhance financial performance and businessopportunities.
- Ensure that effective internalcontrols are in place and ensure compliance with IFRS andapplicable state and local regulatory laws and rules for financialand taxreporting.
QualificationsandRequirements :
- Professionalsworking with CA/ACCA/CIMA qualification with at least 3 yearsrelevant experience.
- 10 years in progressivelyresponsible financial leadership roles preferably in internationalschools.
- Proven success in leading a comparableorganization at a senior level
- Provenexperience as a planner and implementer the ability to thinkstrategically and creatively
- The ability tomake and implement decisions while building ateam
- Strong management negotiationinterpersonal skills
- Excellent communicationskills and Strong Interpersonalskills
- Demonstrated experience in strategicfinancial management and accounting including strategic planningand working for an international firm.
- Currentknowledge of accounting policies procedures and practices in Indiaand globally.
- The ability to work efficientlyin a fastpaced environment to deal with a wide array of challengesand deadlines and with a varied array ofcontacts.
- Personal qualities of integritycredibility adherence to the standards of professional ethics and acommitment to the School s mission.
- Knowledgeof new online systems that the group uses across Xero Dropbox Slackand othersystems.
