Job Description
The SAP Data and Document Archiving Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining SAP’s data archiving processes, integrating OpenText Archive Center, and ensuring compliance with corporate and legal data retention policies. This role includes the administration, support, implementation, and development of SAP ILM strategies. The specialist will collaborate with various teams to optimize system performance, ensure data privacy compliance, and manage the complete lifecycle of data and documents within the SAP landscape.
Required Technical Skills:
SAP ILM Expertise : Experience in SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), including setting up data retention, destruction policies, and compliance workflows.
OpenText Archive Center Expertise : Deep knowledge of OpenText Archive Center,
including configuration, upgrades, integration with SAP systems, and document management.
SAP ArchiveLink Integration : Expertise in SAP ArchiveLink for integrating external content repositories (OpenText) with SAP systems. Experience in setting up content repositories and ensuring successful document storage and retrieval.
Database & Storage Management : Familiarity with SAP HANA, Oracle, or other database environments and their integration with archiving systems. Experience with managing and optimizing storage systems, including SAN, NAS, or cloud storage for archived content.
ABAP Development: Experience in ABAP programming for customizing SAP archiving objects and ILM workflows to meet business-specific requirements.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. SAP ILM and OpenText Archive Center certifications preferred.
Experience : Minimum of 8+ years of experience in SAP data and document archiving. At least 3 years of experience with OpenText Archive Center upgrades, integration and SAP ILM. Hands-on experience with SAP NetWeaver and SAP HANA environments.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve archiving and ILM related issues.
Project management experience, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver within timelines.
