Full job description

The Front Office Manager plays a key role in the smooth operation of a hotel or hospitality establishment. Below are the main responsibilities and duties associated with this role:

Job Role: Front Office Manager

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Guest Experience Management**:

- Oversee guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and overall front desk activities.

- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly.

- Handle complaints and resolve issues to maintain guest satisfaction.

2. **Team Supervision**:







- Lead and manage the front office staff, including receptionists, concierge, and bell staff.

- Train, mentor, and motivate team members to deliver high standards of hospitality service.

- Prepare staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times.

3. **Operational Oversight**:

- Ensure that all front office operations run smoothly, including reservations, guest registration, and room assignments.

- Monitor and manage room availability, ensuring accurate and timely information is conveyed to guests and staff.

- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure rooms are ready for guests and any issues are addressed promptly.

4. **Financial Responsibilities**:

- Manage the front office budget, including staffing, supplies, and operational costs.

- Oversee cash handling, billing, and payments for guests, ensuring accuracy and adherence to hotel policies.

- Prepare reports on front office operations, occupancy rates, and financial performance.

**Communication and Coordination**:

- Serve as the main point of communication between departments, ensuring smooth coordination of services.

- Maintain strong relationships with guests, VIP clients, and vendors to enhance the hotel’s reputation.

6. **Safety and Security**:

- Ensure that safety procedures are followed at the front desk, including handling emergency situations.

- Monitor security protocols, ensuring that guest information and hotel property are protected.

**Skills Required**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

- IDS Knowledge

- Proficiency in hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Protel).







- Organizational and multitasking skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.

This role is critical in creating a positive first impression for guests and ensuring seamless operations at the front desk.
