Through its AI-enabled “Security Engineer” (SE), the company is able to reduce analyst workloads by providing context to understand the nuance in disparate data sets. This helps companies’ security analysts spend more time on what matters, remediating issues, by overcoming time-consuming data preparation tasks and compute intensive queries. The company provides the collection infrastructure, observability pipelines,
security analytics and smart data management through its turnkey data lake solution. By bifurcating security and compliance data, the company is able to provide high-fidelity security data in real-time while reducing costs.
Our ideal candidate enjoys building, evolving and maintaining container-based application deployment infrastructure on public clouds and on-prem. Abstract is an early-stage, fast-paced startup environment with lots of opportunities to do “0 to 1” foundational engineering.
Responsibilities:
● Lead the overall architecture and evolution of our DevOps code.
● Build and maintain dependable, fast and scalable DevOps pipelines to install, manage and maintain our product, a complex microservices architecture into AWS, Azure and GCP, as well as future private clouds and on-prem deployments.
● Ensure the highest level of security for our infrastructure.
● Raise the bar for the quality of our DevOps code base to best-in-class industry standards.
● Work closely with our sales engineers to debug and evolve the DevOps pipelines for specific customers.
● Collaborate closely with the founding team to deliver a high-impact product.
Environment & Tech:
● Stack runs in k8s on all cloud providers and on-prem
● Terraform, ArgoCD, Teleport, EKS/GKS/AKS, Prometheus/Grafana/ELK
● Modern, distributed microservices architecture
● Hybrid architecture – shared SaaS with “heavy data lifting” in customer-owned cloud accounts
● Backend code in Java, Go and Python
Our ideal candidate:
● Has 5 or more years experience managing infrastructure in public clouds.
● Is highly productive creating and managing complex cloud/container infrastructure.
● Has built demonstrably maintainable and scalable infrastructure-as-code.
● Deeply understands security concerns in public clouds and k8s.
● Can program/script in Python and/or golang.
● Discovers and learns technologies that make our platform better.
● Moves autonomously and finds the right tradeoff between quality and pragmatism.
● Prides themselves for their code quality, testing and documentation.
