Staff Architect – Data Engineering & Analytics
Summary & Ideal Candidate’s Profile
The ideal candidate for the Data Architect position boasts a master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or Data Science from a respected institution They possess 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and leading the development of scalable and resilient cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar). The ideal candidate should have architected and designed a large-scale Data & Analytics solution on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for at least 3 years. The ideal candidate should Google Certified Professional Data Engineer. BFSI domain experience is preferred, along with familiarity with Agile methodologies and Secure DevOps.
Beyond technical abilities, the candidate is a clear communicator, collaborator, and mentor, with analytical problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Data Architecture Design : Develop and implement data models, schemas, and architecture designs that support business needs and improve data management practices.
- Data Integration: Design and oversee the integration of data from various sources into unified data systems, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Database Management: Manage and optimize relational and non-relational databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
- Data Governance: Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures to maintain data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
- Technology Evaluation: Stay current with emerging data technologies and trends,
evaluating and recommending new tools and technologies as needed.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve data-related issues, providing guidance on data-related best practices and solutions.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, models, and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years+ of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and database management overall
- Minimum of 10 years+ of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and database management on public cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS)
- Proficiency in SQL, data warehousing solutions (Redshift,
BigQuery and SnowFlakes), ETL processes, and data modeling tools. Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data systems and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in leading and managing solution architecture for large,
complex projects preferably in BFSI.
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer Certification
- Databricks/snowflakes certification
- Expertise in designing analytics solutions using Datawarehouse schema such as Star and SnowFlakes
- Architecting and designing data & analytics solutions on GCP is preferred
- Experience in working with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience in working with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
