Title : Analytics Data Engineer - Snowflake, DBT, Tableau
Location : Remote
Experience : 10+ years
Tech Skills Needed:
- Snowflake
- DBT
- Tableau
Building Reporting Data Marts:
- Build new "reporting" data marts (tables) from existing Snowflake data to power Tableau reports and analytics use cases.
- Expectation : 8-10 data marts to be built over the next 6 months.
- Collaborate with Analytics, Data, and Business stakeholders to ensure data marts meet reporting and analytics requirements.
Data Engineering Component:
- Analyze upstream data and validate against other sources of truth.
- Build optimal DBT jobs, dynamic tables, or views to produce necessary data.
- Collaborate with governance and reporting teams to apply standard naming conventions and data formatting rules.
- Set up data quality alerts to monitor for data gaps or anomalies (e.g., drops in KPI week-over-week).
Reporting Component:
- Publish Tableau data extracts on the Tableau server based on the new Snowflake data marts.
- Set up a refresh schedule (daily, hourly as needed).
- Create custom Tableau calculations for KPIs.
- Document data sources in Confluence, including sample queries, reports, and any necessary definitions.
