Technical Writer (Mechanical Engineer)
Contractual/Part time work for 2 - 3 months.
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer with a robust background in mechanical and industrial engineering and advanced proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools. The ideal candidate will excel in creating detailed prompts to elicit CAD designs and engineering specifications for mechanical components. This role requires a keen understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to translate complex diagrams into accurate descriptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prompt Writing:
- Develop and compose detailed prompts to elicit CAD designs or engineering specifications for mechanical components. Ensure that prompts:
- Provide a precise description of the component, informed by mechanical engineering principles and relevant terminology, supported by contextual research.
- Clearly explain the component’s function within the larger assembly, including its interactions with other components.
- Include additional information about the component’s functional requirements and constraints.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical writing with a focus on mechanical and industrial systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software with experience in creating and editing technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, industrial processes, design schematics, and technical documentation standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information and analyze diagrams clearly and concisely.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
