Title: Operations Analyst
Who we're looking for
Supporting the Sr. Operations Manager, the Operations Analyst will be responsible for supporting data system development for a critical strategic initiative. This role will partner with our core team and stakeholders to develop data infrastructure, build critical reports, and support operationalization of our data management and reporting systems.
The Operations Analyst will ensure we are operating with a strong core data set, enabling leaders to guide the future of the organization through strategic, data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical database management skills, a track record for enabling organizations to make data-driven decisions,
and an entrepreneurial “builder” mindset. You’re a great fit for this role if you’re energized by solving problems at the intersection of data and company operations.
What you'll be doing
Data Infrastructure Development:
Collaborate with the Sr. Operations Manager to design and implement robust data systems
Partner with stakeholders to identify and address data architecture needs.
Ensure the data infrastructure aligns with organizational goals.
Data Management and Reporting:
Assist in the development and maintenance of data management systems.
Generate and refine critical reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress against strategic goals and provide actionable insights for leadership.
Implement processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
Contribute to strategic planning by providing data-driven recommendations.
Implement best practices for data privacy and security
Operational Support:
Support the operationalization of data management and reporting systems.
Develop and document operational procedures and workflows.
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues as they arise.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements.
Provide regular updates and insights to stakeholders on data system developments.
Foster collaborative relationships to ensure alignment between data systems and business objectives.
Entrepreneurial Problem-Solving:
Approach challenges with a "builder" mindset, proactively seeking innovative solutions.
Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement changes to drive efficiency.
Evaluate and pilot new tools and methodologies that can enhance data operations.
What you bring to the role
Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Experience: 4+ years of experience in a role focused on data management, business intelligence, or operations.
Exposure to building and managing data systems
Experience in developing and automating reporting systems to support business operations.
Technical Skills
Database Management:
Basic understanding of database systems
Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Data Analysis:
Proficiency in analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Proficiency in Google Sheets:
Advanced skills in creating, managing, and automating spreadsheets.
Expertise in using formulas, functions, pivot tables, and data visualization tools.
Experience with Google Looker Studio:
Strong ability to design and maintain dashboards and reports.
Knowledge of data connectors, data blending, and custom report creation.
Scripting and Automation:
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Google Apps Script for automating tasks and processes.
Analytical Skills
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex data-related problems.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data inconsistencies and issues effectively.
Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with data.
Ability to perform data validation and quality assurance checks.
Soft Skills:
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation for data systems and processes.
Collaboration:
Strong interpersonal skills for working effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at various levels.
Time Management:
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
You’ll stand out if you have:
Certifications in data analytics,
business intelligence, or related areas (e.g., Google Data Studio Certification, Google Analytics IQ).
Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, JIRA).
