*Designation: Farm Manager*

*Location: Zambia*

Farm Manager key responsibilities include Monitoring staff, crops, and livestock, purchasing

supplies, preparing budgets and reports, and ensuring maximum output and profitability of the

farming unit. The Farm Manager will be expected to take on a variety of responsibilities around the farm, from scheduling ploughing, planting, and harvesting to testing soil for nutrient levels. He /She should have experience with various farming techniques, including irrigation and fertilization. In addition to actual crop duties, he / she will be responsible for scheduling maintenance for our farm equipment.

*Key/Focus Areas*

*Land Development:*

•Survey of the farmland,





establish boundaries and work towards overall farm development.

•Design and layout of fields and boundaries.

•Development of farming facilities including buildings, power, and farm structures for crop

production

•Construction of roads and drainage as per topographic survey.

•Irrigation and water resource development and management

*Farm Operations:*

•Land preparation forward planning.

•Post-harvest seed handling and storage

•Farm protection and security

•Farm machinery application and maintenance

•Public relations and human resource management of the farm

•Procurement of Farm inputs

•keeping accurate financial records and budgeting

•Keeping on top of all projects to make sure work progresses in a satisfactory manner.

•Managing and coordinating all the phases of agricultural production from planting to harvesting

•Ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements and government regulations

•Keeping up to speed with all administrative records







•Staying up to date with information on pests and diseases

•Keeping the business in profit and meeting financial targets

•Organize all maintenance and repairs for the property and equipment/machinery
