Title - Lead Backend Engineer
Type - Contract
Location - Hybrid, Bangalore
Key Responsibilities :
1. Analyze, design, develop, implement, and maintain application systems for complex work assignments.
2. Gather, analyze, and translate business and non-functional requirements into a practical solution design, possibly leading business and technical solution meetings.
3. Develop application code according to specifications, adhering to current development and project management methodologies and practices.
4. Manage work assignments in line with project methodologies or as directed by management.
5. Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Business Analysts to develop and execute comprehensive test plans.
6.
Provide technical assistance and problem resolution for assigned systems, leading the resolution of production support problems and incidents as per established policies and procedures.
7. Ensure application changes adhere to change management policies and procedures.
8. Offer technical guidance to ensure effective functioning of installed systems and the feasibility of proposed systems to meet future needs.
9. Utilize algorithms, data structures, and programming languages to develop, test, and operate sustainable software applications and services.
10. Identify and recommend system process improvements.
11. Facilitate smooth implementation of new technologies and vendor integrations within assigned domains and interfaces.
12. Provide direction, training, and guidance to the development team.
13. Maintain a deep understanding of cloud-based solution development and deployment.
Qualifications and Skillsets :
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or in a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in software project design, development, and implementation in a web services-based environment, with open-source service frameworks.
- At least 7 years of experience in object-oriented design patterns and Java development best practices.
- At least 2 years of experience leading development teams.
- Proficiency in microservices architecture; Java/J2EE; Spring Boot; Spring MVC, Spring Kafka, Spring Security; JavaScript; XML and XML parsers; RESTful web services.
- Experience with event streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Development skills that interface with middleware such as ETL, ESB, Web Services, SOAP, and XML.
- Knowledge of networking protocols – TCP/IP,
HTTP, SMTP, etc.
- Over 4 years of database design/development experience in RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle); NoSQL design/development experience is a plus.
- Experience with AWS Services (e.g., Docker ECS, Application Load Balancer, S3) and serverless technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Datadog, Grafana, and Splunk.
- Exceptional presentation, verbal, written, interpersonal, and listening skills.
- Strong leadership skills including collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation.
- Ability to work collaboratively to achieve business goals across broad teams.
- A proactive mindset that challenges the status quo, champions change, and influences others to embrace change.
