Role Description
This is a contract remote role for an Insurance Business Analyst at AInsurCo. The Business Analyst will be responsible for conducting business analysis, communicating with stakeholders, documenting business processes, gathering business requirements,
and analyzing data to support decision-making.
The Insurance Business Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze business operations, define project requirements, and identify solutions to meet business goals. This role involves understanding and documenting insurance processes, performing data analysis, and ensuring smooth communication between stakeholders and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Requirements Gathering:
- Work with stakeholders (business users, IT teams, management) to gather and document business requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications for technical teams.
Process Improvement:
- Analyze current business processes and workflows within the insurance domain (underwriting, claims, policy administration).
- Recommend solutions for process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze insurance data (claims, policies, premiums) to identify trends, anomalies,
and opportunities for improvement.
- Create detailed reports and dashboards to support business decisions.
Project Management:
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a liaison between the business and IT teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
- Organize and facilitate meetings with stakeholders to review project updates and deliverables.
System Implementation:
- Assist in the selection and implementation of new insurance systems or tools.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and training for new systems and enhancements.
Risk Assessment and Compliance:
- Ensure that all business solutions align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Assess risks associated with projects or new implementations and provide mitigation strategies.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of insurance operations (underwriting, claims, policy administration, risk assessment).
- Proven experience with business process modeling and analysis techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to work with large datasets and perform data analysis.
- Experience in system implementation and software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques (e.g.,
flowcharts, user stories, use cases).
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry.
- Familiarity with insurance platforms and systems (e.g., policy administration systems, claims management systems).
- Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA) is a plus.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks in insurance (Solvency II, IFRS 17, etc.) is an advantage.
