POSITION SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate is a skilled Middleware Engineer with a strong background in DevOps to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will manage middleware technologies while also focusing on automating and optimizing our development, deployment, and infrastructure processes. He/She will work closely with software development, IT operations, Security, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and scalable systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adhere to organizational policies using the employee handbook, company guidelines, and SDLC procedures to ensure compliance.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
Document system design solutions and source code using standardized templates provided by business analysts or release managers.
Implement software architecture and designs provided by system architects.
Develop reliable and scalable system solutions that meet business quality standards and deadlines.
Manage, configure, and support cloud-based middleware technologies on Azure (e.g., Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service).
Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.
Collaborate with development teams to automate deployment processes and improve infrastructure reliability.
Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, using Azure Monitor and other monitoring tools.
Implement and manage containerization platforms, focusing on Docker and Kubernetes for orchestration.
Ensure security, scalability,
and redundancy across middleware and cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate in software releases, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices.
Provide technical guidance to enhance system performance, availability, and scalability.
qUALIFICATIONS
At least 5 years of experience in DevOps and SRE practices, including managing cloud environments like Azure.
Proficiency in configuring and managing middleware solutions on Azure (e.g., App Services, AKS, Application Gateway).
Strong experience with DevOps tools and technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git.
Advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and infrastructure as code.
Experience with cloud environments such as Azure and hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Terragrunt for cloud provisioning.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk).
Experience in reverse proxy management and secure networking configurations.
Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical mentorship.
SKILLS:
Software architecture principles (Design Patterns, Software Development Lifecycle).
Azure technologies: Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, Application Gateway.
Docker and docker-compose container orchestration using Kubernetes.
RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
CI/CD: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket pipelines.
Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt.
Scripting languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
Version control systems: Git (Bitbucket, GitHub).
Monitoring and logging: Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana.
Application Servers: Apache Tomcat 9/10, IIS
Prefered SKILLS:
Experience with microservices architecture and its implementation.
Knowledge of networking concepts, including firewalls, load balancers (F5), and VPNs.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Experience in Linux administration and Windows Server environments.
Experience with Azure security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and compliance.
Education
BA/BS degree in CS or related field with 10 plus years of experience.
