Overview:The Hardware Design Engineer plays a crucial role in the organization responsible for designing and developing hardware systems for a wide range of applications. This role is integral to ensuring the functionality performance and reliability of hardware products. Key Responsibilities:Design and implement analog and digital hardware circuits.
Design and Development: Create PCB layouts considering electrical performance signal integrity thermal constraints and manufacturability. Schematic Understanding: Interpret circuit schematics and translate them into functional PCB designs. Component Selection: Choose appropriate electronic components and connectors for the PCB layout based on electrical specifications and design constraints.
PCB Prototyping: Oversee the prototyping and testing of PCB designs to ensure functionality and compliance with specifications. Collaboration: Work closely with hardware engineers firmware engineers and other crossfunctional teams to understand project requirements and integrate design components effectively. Design Optimization: Optimize PCB layouts for size cost and performance while adhering to industry standards and design guidelines.
Quality Assurance: Perform design reviews inspections and tests to identify and rectify potential issues early in the design process. Documentation: Create and maintain accurate design documentation including schematics bill of materials (BOM) and design files for production. Manufacturability: Interface with manufacturing partners to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
Develop hardware architectures and specifications. Conduct component selection and evaluation. Create and review PCB layouts.
Perform hardware verification and validation testing. Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC standards and regulations. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams for product integration.
Conduct design optimization and cost reduction activities. Generate design documentation and reports. Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance.
Required Qualifications:Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering or related field. Proven experience in analog and digital hardware design. Proficiency in PCB layout tools and hardware development software.
Strong knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance requirements. Ability to perform hardware testing and debugging. Experience with microcontrollers FPGAs and other hardware components.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in hardware design.
Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills. Good understanding of power management and signal integrity.
