Contract Logistics Procurement Manager – Maersk, IBS

The Procurement team in Maersk (IBS) is looking for a Contract Logistics Procurement Manager to drive our Logistics and Services (L&S;) growth journey and will be responsible for managing the CAPEX & OPEX spend in IBS (India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka).

The role will involve developing and implementing sourcing strategies for procurement of various goods and services, experience in warehousing,





supply chain contracting, and Cold Chain Logistics procurement will be added advantage. All sourcing plans needs to have strategic alignment with the area business plans. This role will require you to be a business partner to product heads and commercial teams in delivering optimized costs through cost effective, compliant, and quality procurement solutions. This role will be a key player in supporting the IBS Area growth for Contract Logistics products (Warehousing and Distribution, Cold Chain Storage and CFS/ICD Services, Depots, e-commerce – via self-managed and third-party sites) within L&S; product portfolio and will play a significant role in the wider cost optimization agenda of the IBS region. The role will be positioned in Mumbai (India) reporting to the Area Procurement head (L&S;) for IBS area.

Experience in procurement of Warehousing and Distribution solutions, greenfield project related procurement, Cold Chain Storage and Logistics,





Supply chain management is a necessity when applying and combined with awareness of cost drivers will be highly valued in the selection process. It is necessary to possess experience in project management and it is expected that the candidate in previous roles have acted as project leader for cross-functional projects. The individual we are looking for must have strong communication skills, firm executive presence, and possess an ability to manage many stakeholders at different levels of seniority both within and outside the Maersk organization, to manage this role efficiently one must have a team management experience.

What this position involves

- Managing the team efficiently, demonstrating remarkable collaboration with internal & external stakeholders.







- Working as the Procurement business partner to Product teams in business and product development

- Performing real estate supplier and market analysis and organising market intelligence in close coordination with Maersk’s Real Estate Management team and their local Real Estate consultants

- Overall responsible for optimizing the procurement spend across the Contract and Cold Chain Logistics

- Develop category strategy in alignment with area business plans.

- Managing complex procurement projects (OPEX and CAPEX) for development of new self-managed sites and third-party CFS’ for consolidation and deconsolidation and value-added services-surveyors, haulages, scanning, Quality Control etc.)







- Facilitating high value negotiations and coordinating service level agreements between Maersk and its suppliers for the operational self-managed and outsourced sites in IBS ensuring alignment between costs, commercial needs, and operational execution

- Enabling sustainable and profitable growth through best-in-class sourcing, optimizing operational behaviours and supplier innovation

- Developing and overseeing the realization of the procurement plan (Pipeline) to the expectations of the Maersk procurement process, and this is supported through Maersk’s “Six Sourcing Steps”.

- Integrating Contract Management frameworks to help ensure cost leadership, compliance and best in class supplier performance.

- Driving Supplier relationship Management including performance management on tactical level







- Developing and implementing digital solutions to optimise the procurement process and hand overs etc.

- Cooperating closely with colleagues within the IBS region and globally

- Considerable travel within the country and some travel within the IBS region is to be expected.

Who we are looking for?

Required:

- Bachelor of engineering (any stream) & MBA from any reputed institute in related field of supply chain.

- At least 15 years of procurement experience in Contract Logistics procurement, Supply chain management

- Strong industry network and sound market and product understanding

- A commercial mindset with fair understanding of handling PnL

- Experience in team management,





green field project procurement & warehousing services would be an added advantage.

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

- Superb communication and interpersonal skills

- Composure when confronted with sudden setbacks

- A knack for negotiation

- Willingness to operate in a fast paced environment

- Ability to make quick decisions with 80% information

- Thirst for knowledge and the ability to learn quickly
