Job Description
We are seeking askilled Business Development Manager with 8-10 years of experience in thepharmaceutical industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have aproven track record in Business Development and Portfolio Management,particularly in identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities. Regionalor multi-country experience is highly desirable
Key Responsibilities:
1. Scope of work:
- Identify and develop product portfolio opportunities forthe US & Canada Market, focusing on Derma, Respi, and Onco Therapy Areas.
2. Market Analysis:
- Analyse the pharmaceutical market to identify gaps andopportunities.
- Prepare a comprehensive overview of market performance forGlenmark's competition across all dosage forms.
3. Portfolio Management:
- Generate innovative ideas for both generic and proprietaryproducts.
- Evaluate new opportunities and recommend potentialadditions to the portfolio.
- Conduct risk assessments of the existing portfolio anddevelop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare business cases for product or portfolioacquisitions in collaboration with business and Product Development teams.
4. Planning:
- Develop a Product Grid for the next five years,considering stakeholder complexities such as R&D;, Regulatory Affairs,Manufacturing, Clinical, and IP.
- Review and challenge the selected Product Grid on aquarterly basis.
5. Networking:
- Establish and maintain strong cross-functional networkswithin Glenmark.
- Foster relationships with key suppliers, competitors,dossier developers, manufacturers, and other industry stakeholders.
- Attend various conferences and trade fairs to stay updatedon industry trends and developments.
6. Ad Hoc Duties:
- Provide support for business development efforts relatedto new market entry initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability :
- Identify and develop product portfolio opportunities forthe US & Canada Market, focusing on Derma, Respi, and Onco Therapy Areas.
- Utilize portfolio experience to drive business developmentinitiatives.
- Demonstrate strong contractual and legal knowledge inmanaging partnerships and agreements.
- Stay updated on current regulatory processes andunderstand IP issues in pharmaceuticals.
- Utilize existing network of business development contactsto foster partnerships and collaborations.
- Approach challenges with resourcefulness, strategicthinking, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ensure timely delivery of quality results in an ethicaland professional manner.
- Possess excellent communication, negotiation, andinfluencing skills.
- Utilize business analytics to plan for short andmedium-term goals.
- Maintain organization and logic while remaining flexibleto adapt to changing circumstances.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of business operationsmanagement principles.
