Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Systems Support engineer II to manage and maintain our user systems in a timely and efficient manner. As a System Support Engineer II you are responsible for research, diagnose, troubleshoot,
and resolve users issues in an accurate and timely manner. In this role, you will be responsible for:
What You Have To Do
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems,
application software and system management tools.
- Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Installing or upgrading Windows and Ubuntu systems.
- Assessing the stability, security, and scalability of installed systems.
- Discussing system upgrades and patching with IT managers.
- Deploying monthly patches on the test environment followed by the deployment on the production environment.
- Providing technical support for users.
- Troubleshooting system errors.
- Work on user tickets ensuring that the tickets are resolved within the given SLA.
- Perform administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring,
ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
- Monitor all system alerts and assist to resolve complex issues in system hardware and software.
- Install and configure various commercial and non-commercial products on windows and Ubuntu operating systems.
Work Experience
What you've done
- Proven work experience as a support engineer for at least 4+ years is preferred.
- Ability to learn and create scripts in Powershell and bash scripts.
- Knowledge with patch management and networks including LAN and WAN.
- Knowledge with MDM is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good analytical and communication skills.
