Position Overview: As a Piping Stress & Material Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and reliability of piping systems within our projects in the oil & gas, refinery, and petrochemical sectors. With a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience,
you will use your expertise to perform stress analysis, select appropriate materials, and provide engineering solutions to complex piping challenges.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive stress analysis using industry-standard software (e.g., Caesar II) to evaluate piping systems' performance under various operating conditions.
- Conduct FEA analysis using PRG FEPIPE or ANSYS
- Perform Technical evaluation for Valves & Piping specialties.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to select suitable materials for piping components, considering factors such as temperature, pressure, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure that all piping designs comply with relevant industry codes and standards, such as ASME, API, and ASTM.
- Provide technical guidance to the project team, including designers, drafters, and other engineers, to ensure the successful execution of piping-related tasks.
- Identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities in piping systems and propose mitigation measures to enhance safety and reliability.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and drawings related to piping stress analysis and material selection.
- Monitor and review the work of junior engineers and designers to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
- Communicate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to address technical queries and provide project updates.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies,
and propose improvements to existing processes and workflows.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in piping stress analysis and material selection within the oil & gas, refinery, and petrochemical industries.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software for stress analysis, such as Caesar II.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ASME B31.3, API 570, and ASTM materials specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
