Position Cloud Business Development Professional

Location Kolkata

Reporting To SVP Cloud Solutions and MD & CEO

Objective Business Development and Sales for Cloud Business Services mainly on AWS/AZURE

Job Description Primary Responsibility

The primary responsibility of this role is to independently meet and exceed assigned sales targets for cloud services. Towards this, the person shall be expected to undertake some or all of the following tasks:-

Generate leads and build up lead funnel for future sales

Update knowledge of cloud service offerings in the industry and those offered by the company and thereby speak confidently and correctly about the same with potential clients







Develop good rapport with existing clients to get more business and references from them

Research business processes of target client accounts to discover potential for use of AITs cloud services

Understand client requirements to develop cost effective and profitable proposals in conjunction with AITs Cloud solutions team

Influence clients not inclined towards cloud with rationale for this service and induce trials

Win the Sale convince, negotiate and close deals on their own

Keep track of customer satisfaction levels and service level agreement compliance to step-in in case of any issues, thereby ensuring repeat business is not hampered

Keep track of payment cycles from clients to ensure that they pay on time and AITs profitability or debtor days are not affected adversely

Secondary responsibilities

Over a period of time, this person would be expected to deliver on the following:-

Help in the recruitment and grooming of junior sales people for Cloud Business Services







Collaborate with internal functional teams to ideate collaborative Cloud based products or solution.

Represent AIT at industry events and academic interfaces, when called upon by AIT for the purpose

Qualifications Graduates / Post Graduates in any field of technology would be ideal. However, graduates in other fields with adequate training and experience may also apply.

Experience 4 to 5 years of cloud services sales experience in an organization providing data-center facilities, web hosting, technology transformation, digital transformation and cloud strategy for the customers

Skills / Attributes Skills Required

Strong technical written and verbal communication in English along with excellent presentation skills to different high level stakeholders







Strong and up-to-date knowledge of Cloud Services provided by major cloud providers like AWS and AZURE Relevant certifications are desirable (e.g. AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert)

Ability to communicate complex solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences

Good track record of meeting the sales target numbers

Good in commercial negotiations and closing orders independently

Good working knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word would be desirable

Analytical Cloud sales professional should be able to distill briefs to find the real problem/s or weak area/s that need/s to be solved/transformed for better utilization







Logical Cloud sales professional should be able to logically explain how their ideas will solve/transform the given problem for the best towards utilization and cost

Solution Oriented Cloud sales professional should propose or talk about a desired solution to the target audience explaining the overall benefits and support with result driven data like TCO

Result Oriented The desired result from this role is increase in sales for Cloud Business Services. The person should always keep this in mind

Multi-tasker Working as a Cloud sales professional requires one to work on, and think of solutions to multiple problems and clients at a time

Knowledgeable A Cloud sales professional should have the urge to learn fast and should be aware of the performance of the competitors to be the pioneer in ideating solutions for the clients using cloud services







Ethical Any sales role requires a person to have high standards of ethics so as not to adopt or indulge in any unethical practices
