Job Title: Fabrication Estimator
Location: Surabaya, Indonesia
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Fabrication Estimator to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
The Fabrication Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for fabrication projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine the resources, materials, and labor required. The Fabrication Estimator will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that estimates align with project goals and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation:
- Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for fabrication projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the estimation process.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and production teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and availability of materials and services.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions and requirements.
Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze historical data and trends to inform future estimates and improve accuracy.
- Prepare and present estimates to management and clients, providing clear explanations of cost components.
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, including assumptions, calculations, and revisions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in the estimation workflow.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and fabrication techniques to enhance estimating practices.
- Participate in post-project reviews to assess the accuracy of estimates and identify lessons learned.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure that estimates comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of estimating standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications in estimating or project management are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fabrication estimating or a related field.
- Proven experience in cost estimation for fabrication projects, including metalworking, welding, or similar industries.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Working Conditions:
-The Fabrication Estimator typically works in office environment. Some travel may be required for site assessments or client meetings.
