Project Overview:

Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services for a multi-billion-dollar renewables and its infrastructure project in India. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region. This position will start as an assignment in Mumbai, India (office) and after the full notice to proceed from the Owner, the site-specific position will eventually transition to the job site for the execution of the project.

Job Summary:

The Deputy Project Manager will be working closely with Client, Engineering Contractors, Subcontractors and Construction group in a PMC role for Solar Farm, HV Transmission and Land Development.





Will be responsible for managing contractors design, quantities and cost and ensure schedule compliance. This position will report directly to the Project Manager and be an integral part of a high performing, integrated PMC team.

Major Responsibilities:

- Has full technical responsibility for planning, interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating the engineering assignments and activities on the project in liaison with the Project Manager and Client in a PMC role.
- Establish / manage the overall project budget, maintains ownership, and ensures execution within approved budgets.
- Sets the project strategy and leads projects customer engagement plan including the Customer Survey Program






- Utilizes formal data-driven review processes to monitor project and ensure compliance with technical requirements
- Works closely with internal and external stakeholders including consultants, engineers, architects, planners, construction managers and quantity surveyors.
- Overview Tender & Construction Drawings along with Engineering Design Plans.
- Establishes / manages the project design scope and maintains ownership
- Establishes / manages and reviews the project schedule for the project/program carries out any actions to prioritize /re-schedule project deliverables and personnel necessary to meet the overall
- schedule.
- Plans, forecasts, identifies the necessary engineering resources to assist the program workload requirements program release dates for input to the functional department






- Provide inputs to aid in Value Engineering.
- Co-ordinates technical and commercial reviews from the project / program, reviews contract documentation.
- Undertakes design co-ordination meetings with construction at various phases including implementation of Design for Safe Construction Procedure.
- Instigates and reviews Total Installed Cost reduction/ value engineering opportunities / proposals
- Ensures that statutory and company specific design reviews are undertaken and are in accordance with QA procedures in place at the time.

Education and Experience Requirements:

- A recognized Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university with 20 years of relevant work experience.






- Executed at least one projects in similar roles in the same industry.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- In-depth knowledge in carrying out project management of High Voltage Transmission/Distribution Lines, Solar Farm and Land Development projects.
- Experience in review of all aspects of feasibility Studies (Technical and economic Studies).
- Experience in review of Energy integration Studies, Transmission Planning Studies, and Land Development Studies.
- Excellent analytical and creative skills.
- Ability to propose and follow new technologies and innovative solutions into practice.
- A thoughtful and creative thinker, passionate about new technologies, research, and development.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.






- Strong ability to work in an integrated environment and communicate with technical and non- technical colleagues.
- Ability to interact with all levels including senior management and influence decision-making.
- Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues.
- Working knowledge of industry / regulatory standards and design criteria within the engineering disciplines
- Ability to develop innovative ideas to reduce project total installed costs (TIC).
- Ability to present technical design issues to customers and suppliers and the ability to recommend solutions based on knowledge and experience.
- Proficient execution planning, resource allocation skills.
