Position : Business Analyst - Securitization, Credit Risk, & Regulatory Compliance

Job Summary :
We are looking for a Business Analyst with a strong finance background and in-depth knowledge of securitization, credit risk mitigation, Basel III guidelines, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and proficiency in API testing and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The successful candidate will bridge the gap between technical teams and financial business requirements, supporting risk management strategies, compliance with regulatory standards, and ensuring effective systems integration.
Key Responsibilities :
Securitization & Structured Finance :
- Analyze securitization structures, including asset-backed securities (ABS), mortgage-backed securities (MBS), and collateralized debt obligations (CDOs).
- Support the end-to-end process for securitization transactions, including structuring, pricing, and monitoring of assets.
- Work closely with finance, legal, and compliance teams to ensure securitization documentation aligns with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
Credit Risk Mitigation :
- Perform detailed credit risk analysis on financial instruments and portfolios to identify, assess, and mitigate risk exposure.
- Develop strategies for credit risk mitigation, including collateral management, guarantees, and credit enhancements.
- Assist in developing and implementing risk models to evaluate the impact of various market and financial conditions on credit exposure.
Compliance with Basel III & IFRS :
- Ensure business processes and models comply with Basel III guidelines regarding capital adequacy, liquidity risk, and leverage ratios.
- Analyze financial reports and transactions to ensure alignment with IFRS standards, including IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments) for asset classification and measurement.
- Support stress testing, capital planning, and regulatory reporting as required under Basel III.
API Testing & SDLC :
- Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to define business requirements for system integrations and enhancements.
- Conduct API testing to ensure seamless integration between financial platforms and other enterprise systems.
- Participate in various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirement gathering, development, testing,
and deployment to ensure that software solutions meet business and regulatory needs.
Data Analysis & Reporting :
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various financial and risk management systems to create detailed reports and dashboards.
- Provide insights on securitized portfolios, credit exposures, and compliance metrics for senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Develop performance indicators to track asset performance, credit risk, and compliance with- capital adequacy and liquidity requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration :
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, risk management, IT, and compliance teams, to understand business requirements and drive process improvements.
- Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure clear communication of business objectives and technical constraints.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and rating agencies, to provide necessary data and documentation for securitization and risk management processes.
Key Skills & Qualifications :
Education :
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Master's degree (e.g., MBA, MSc in Finance) or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) is highly preferred.
Experience :
- 8+ years of experience in securitization, credit risk analysis, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of Basel III guidelines, particularly in capital adequacy, liquidity risk,
and leverage.
- Hands-on experience with IFRS standards, particularly IFRS 9 and IFRS 7.
- Exposure to API testing and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) within a financial services environment.
Technical Skills :
- Proficient in financial analysis and modeling tools (e.g., Excel, VBA, Python) and risk management software (e.g., SAS, Bloomberg, Moody's).
- Experience in API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) and familiarity with Agile or Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and database querying (SQL) is a plus.
Soft Skills :
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.
Preferred :
- Experience working in a regulated financial environment, with knowledge of European Securitization Regulation, Dodd-Frank Act, and other relevant regulations.
- Familiarity with credit derivatives, credit enhancements, and hedging strategies.
- Prior experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
