Software Engineering Manager, Payments Platform
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India
Experience Level: Advanced
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C , Java, JavaScript).
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in an evolving organization.
About the Job:
Software Engineering Managers at Google have the technical expertise to provide leadership to major projects and manage a team of Engineers. They optimize code and ensure that Engineers can do the same. As a Software Engineering Manager, you contribute to product strategy, manage project goals, and develop your team across various technical domains within the company.
The payments team at Google is focused on building the payments platform for global usage. In this role, you will work on enhancing the Payments Platform with new payment protocols, making online payments more simple, seamless, and secure for consumers and businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Set and communicate team priorities aligned with the organization's goals.
- Provide clear expectations and regular feedback to team members for performance and development.
- Develop technical roadmaps and systems designs to meet evolving requirements.
- Review code developed by team members and ensure best practices are followed.
