Security Engineer, Enterprise Infrastructure Protection
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India
Experience Level: Mid
The Security Engineer in Enterprise Infrastructure Protection role at Google involves driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate should have deeper expertise and applied knowledge within the relevant area.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience with security in attacks and mitigation methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience coding in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Go, SQL,
JavaScript).
- Understanding of federated authentication/authorization technologies (e.g., SAML, SCIM, OIDC).
- Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., protocols, topologies, encryption).
- Ability to perform technical security assessments of large complex systems.
- Ability to design and develop new security control implementations.

The Security team at Google works tirelessly to create and maintain the safest operating environment for users and developers. Security Engineers play a crucial role in protecting network boundaries, hardening computer systems and network devices against attacks, and safeguarding sensitive data like passwords and customer information. Collaborating directly with network equipment, they actively monitor systems for threats and intrusions. Additionally, Security Engineers work alongside software engineers to proactively identify and address security flaws and vulnerabilities.
The Enterprise Infrastructure Protection (EIP)
team is dedicated to shielding Google's enterprise environment from advanced threats. Engineers within this team possess a diverse set of technical skills to design innovative solutions for protecting client, mobile, and server platforms, as well as the underlying management and access infrastructure. The focus lies on building secure systems and contributing to the broader community by sharing designs and code with the world.
Responsibilities:
- Design infrastructure to safeguard Google networks and systems.
- Offer security expertise and guidance to various Google engineering and business teams.
- Conduct security reviews of core corporate and production infrastructure.
- Implement security improvements for Google products and services with an enterprise focus.
- Develop security tools and processes using Python or Go for essential infrastructure protection, monitoring, and remediation.
