Role
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to support an ongoing data migration project. The ideal candidate will have experience with data engineering, migration tasks, and a strong understanding of SAS . Knowledge of SAS Viya ,
EKS , and cloud infrastructure will be a significant advantage.
Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and execute data migration processes, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize data pipelines
- Ensure efficient data flow between legacy systems and new cloud-based architectures
- Work with SAS and SAS Viya platforms for data analytics, migration, and transformation
- Set up and manage AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) environments for containerized workloads in the cloud
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipeline performance
- Ensure adherence to data governance and security standards
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering and data migration projects
- Hands-on experience with SAS and familiarity with SAS Viya
- Strong knowledge of AWS cloud platform and container orchestration tools like EKS
- Proficiency in SQL, ETL tools, and Python (or other programming languages) for data transformation
- Experience working with cloud-based databases and storage solutions
- Experience with Kubernetes and managing containerized applications
- Understanding of cloud architecture and best practices for security and scalability
- Knowledge of data governance, data privacy, and compliance regulations
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams
- Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
