JOB SUMMARY:
- Assist Head Workplace Solutions or his/her designee in all security and safety related functions and be prepared for all secondary roles assigned:
- Protection of Company businesses property, personnel, material and information; Vigilance and Investigations; Liaison
- Ensuring Workplace Safety by implementing best industry practices
SECURITY - 40%
- Formulate and implement security and safety policies,
processes and protocols to protect Company's physical & intellectual assets and prevent losses.
- Creating strong security interface and maintaining visitor management system.
- Report and investigate theft and pilferages.
- Responsible for maintenance and up keep of security equipment and gadgets & shall strive continuously for its up gradation
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
- Selection & Training of security personnel.
- Ensure that all security related matters are immediately reported to the HWS
- Collect, collate and disseminate all information which may lead to any type of loss to the company or any of its stake holders.
- Maintain a high level of discipline, honesty, integrity and sincerity in Security Personnel in during discharge of their duty.
- Initiate, design and lead Security Automation Projects, Budgeting, Installation & Commissioning of security systems
· Ensuring optimum performance of Electronic Security/Surveillance
- Conduct benchmarking activities with peers in the industry to maintain knowledge of complex industry trends, current security issues and security technology and update management on risk and threat that could impact company business
- Maintain the Security Operations Manual up to date for use by all on site security personnel to cover duties, individual instructions for each post; attendance; use of security equipment; dress standard; training etc.
- Provide immediate supervision to employees, assigning tasks, scheduling shifts, and checking work at frequent intervals
- Ensure that standard operating procedures for security and safety are implemented and adhered to
- Ensure that employees are following security procedures & regulations
- Audit and identify potential security risks and ensure security weaknesses are rectified
- Collaborate and maintain strong and ongoing connection with Security to ensure consistency in standards, policies, procedures, practices and protocol and to strengthen our Security global programming.
SAFETY - 40%
· Provide strategy, guidance, direction, follow-up, and accountability for safety programs.
· Follow all current emergency and life safety procedures set forth by GMI and the assigned property, including but not limited to:
§ Direct the maintenance and testing of mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems
§ Direct and assist with evacuations and life safety alarms as deemed reasonable and prudent
§ Assist emergency authorities and response teams in capacity of fire/life safety officer
- Assist with development and maintenance of Emergency Response/Crisis Management/Disaster Management programs and procedures
- Compose written and factual reports of incidents and emergencies and circulate them to Site Management Team
- Perform Risk-Assessments
- Ensure that security personnel are trained for firefighting and other emergency procedures.
- Organize & conduct Mock Drills (Site evacuations / fire drills)
- Collaborate and maintain strong and ongoing connection with Safety and Wellness to ensure consistency in standards, policies, procedures, practices and protocol and to strengthen our Workplace Safety global programming.
LIAISON - 10%
· Liaison with MMC,
Fire Brigade, local police, security and intelligence services and maintain a network of contacts with security agencies
GENERAL - 10%
- Prepare MIS
- Ensure that all security and safety records are maintained properly
- Ensure that all security and safety statutory requirements are adhered to
- Ensure that the security bills are properly vetted and processed.
- Carry out security and safety audits from time to time and ensure that all procedures and policies being adhered to.
- Ensure all security and safety training needs are identified and processed promptly and are undertaken at the appropriate time
- Perform administrative functions pertaining to security and safety
- Conduct / Coordinate regular security and safety education and awareness programs
- Provide backup/support to Facilities Management operations
EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- Graduation
- Diploma in Fire & Safety from OSHA/IOSH/NEBOSH etc. preferred
- 4-6 Years of experience in managing security and safety of medium or large corporate
- Excellent communication and human relation skills
- Demonstrate ability to develop and implement effective safety & security programs
- Knowledge of Public address System, Panic alarm system, Fire Alarm & Suppression Lifts, CCTV & Access Control System, Flap & Boom Barriers etc.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills, with a hands-on, problem-solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incident
- Sound working knowledge of security best practice and legislation affecting the security role
