About the Role
We are looking for a Data Scientist at the Manager level who is passionate about building cutting-edge machine learning solutions and capable of leading projects in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in Python, machine learning, distributed computing, and strong problem-solving abilities. This role involves working closely with teams across different functions, including data engineering, brand teams, and management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement scalable machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex problems.
- Collaborate with peers for code reviews and contribute to problem-solving sessions.
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including management and brand teams.
- Work with distributed computing frameworks such as Snowpark and PySpark for large-scale data processing.
- Design and implement ML solutions for tasks like recommender systems, handling highly imbalanced datasets,
and bias mitigation techniques such as K-fold and leave-one-out cross-validation.
- Lead end-to-end development of machine learning models, from linear/logistic regression to advanced deep learning methods.
- Use MLOps frameworks to streamline model tracking, deployment, and pipeline automation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related role.
- Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with machine learning libraries like sklearn and deep learning frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience with distributed computing frameworks, including Snowpark and PySpark.
- Proven track record of working with imbalanced datasets and expertise in model tuning techniques.
- Experience in implementing MLOps frameworks for model tracking and deployment.
- Strong software engineering background with experience in good software design practices.
- Nice to have: History of deploying ML models, handling model performance over time, and diagnosing data/model drift.
- Familiarity with data science platforms like Dataiku or other ML-enabling tools (e.g., SageMaker).
- Familiarity with time-wise tracking of model performance, and diagnosis of data/model drift.
