Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration and engineering, with proficiency in VMWare, Hyper-V, Windows, Linux, Storage, Networking, and AWS Cloud. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining our organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance across all systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage virtualized environments using VMWare and Hyper-V.
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers,
ensuring their security, stability, and performance.
- Oversee storage solutions, including SAN/NAS management, backup strategies, and data recovery procedures.
- Manage networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs, ensuring seamless connectivity and network security.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize AWS Cloud services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and IAM, to support cloud-based applications and workloads.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime and service disruptions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployment, configuration management, and IT operations.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across all systems, including patch management, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in system administration, with a focus on virtualization, Windows/Linux servers, and networking.
- Strong hands-on experience with VMWare and Hyper-V.
- Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Solid understanding of storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and cloud storage.
- In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewall configurations.
- Experience with AWS Cloud services and best practices.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
