Overview:
We are looking for a motivated fresher to join our IT team as an Infosec Support Analyst/Engineer.
You will be the first line of defence against security threats, monitor systems, respond to incidents, and support daily IT activities. This role offers significant learning opportunities, with hands-on experience in IT security, digital currencies, and decentralized technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Endpoint & Antivirus Security
- Perform checks and updates on security solutions (e.g., antivirus, SSO).
- Ensure system compliance with security standards, applying patches and updates.
- Monitor and manage antivirus solutions, including dashboard monitoring, issue resolution, and deployment of endpoint security software, while coordinating with senior IT staff to mitigate malware and ransomware outbreaks.
Security Incident Management
- Act as the first point of contact for security incidents.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify root causes and implement remediation.
- Provide clear updates to stakeholders on incident status and resolutions.
- Participate in post-incident reviews to improve response procedures.
IT Support & Policy Compliance
- Review existing security policies and increase compliance across endpoints.
- Maintain employee and asset inventories, ensuring device security.
- Collaborate with vendors on security projects.
SIEM Management and Reporting
- Assist in configuring and optimizing SIEM platforms for better event detection.
- Monitor dashboards for suspicious activities (unauthorized access, anomalies).
- Prepare regular reports on SOC metrics, incidents, and resolutions.
- Collaborate with senior analysts to improve alerts, rules, and reporting.
Digital Currency and Decentralized Technologies Knowledge
- Stay updated on emerging threats in DeFi and digital currencies.
- Monitor risks like unauthorized transactions and fraudulent activities in blockchain.
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to protect digital assets and improve security.
- Apply blockchain knowledge to identify security gaps.
- Assist in investigating and responding to blockchain or cryptocurrency breaches.
Learning and Development
- Participate in professional development through training, industry analysis, and certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, SOC Analyst).
- Work closely with senior team members to gain hands-on experience in IT and security.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and technologies (firewalls, VPNs, SIEM, IDS/IPS).
- Familiarity with endpoint security tools (antivirus, firewalls, IDS).
- Knowledge of blockchain, cryptocurrency wallets, smart contracts, and OS (Windows, Linux, macOS).
- Experience in network troubleshooting, system administration, and IT maintenance.
- Awareness of digital currency risks and threats.
Analytical & Problem-Solving
- Ability to analyze logs and network traffic for suspicious behavior.
- Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to solve IT-related problems and troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively.
Communication & Collaboration
- Clear written and verbal communication for reporting and teamwork.
- Able to provide technical support to employees.
Learning Attitude
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive in skill development and training.
Certifications and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Industry-recognized certifications (even entry-level) such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) are a plus.
- Familiarity with blockchain certifications or courses related to digital currencies is an added advantage
