Summary:
- The Director of Credit Data Science is responsible for the oversight and enhancement of robust statistical modeling and reporting on Vervent Card’s various credit portfolios.
- This position leads a team of Data Scientists to set sound credit strategies and processes for origination and account management. In addition, the Director of Credit Data Science is responsible for partnering with the servicing organization to provide statistical models and analytical support that maximize product profitability across all internal functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides direction for the development of risk strategies and statistical models.
- Oversees the enhancement of existing predictive models.
- Develops and leads a team of Data Scientists that provide analysis, modeling, and reporting services to internal and external stakeholders.
- Interacts with internal and external stakeholders to manage requests, analyze results, and sponsor projects.
- Drives change throughout the organization by presenting data driven results and offering solutions that maximize profitability.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and T-SQL skills required, SSIS and SSRS knowledge is a plus.
- Proficiency with a model development software such as python or R is required.
- 12+ years of job-related experience in a credit card/financial services environment is required, with 3 or more years managing data science teams.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to design strategies, drive results, and implement changes in cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of the credit card issuing business required
