Key Responsibilities:
1. Research Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute a forward-thinking research strategy aligned with the company’s goals and vision.
- Oversee research projects in AI, machine learning, and data science, ensuring they align with business objectives and industry trends.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the research department.
- Identify emerging technologies and trends that can drive the company's future growth.
2. Team Management & Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of researchers, data scientists, and AI engineers.
- Drive talent development by fostering collaboration, professional growth, and innovation among team members.
- Ensure that research teams meet deadlines, deliver results, and maintain high standards of research quality.
3. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement
- Work closely with the product, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure research outcomes can be translated into tangible products and services.
- Collaborate with external partners, universities, and industry experts to advance research initiatives.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and in academic forums.
4. Research Funding & Resource Management
- Secure funding for research projects through grants, partnerships, and collaborations.
- Allocate resources effectively to maximize research impact while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
5. Innovation & Intellectual Property
- Identify opportunities for innovation, including patents, publications, and new AI-driven products or services.
- Ensure the company remains a leader in AI by driving the research agenda toward cutting-edge solutions.
6. Compliance & Ethics
- Ensure that all research activities are conducted in compliance with relevant ethical standards and regulations, particularly in AI ethics and data privacy.
- Promote ethical AI research practices and advocate for responsible use of AI technologies.
Qualifications:
Education:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a closely related field.
Experience:
- At least 10+ years of research experience in AI or related fields.
- Proven track record in leading and managing research teams.
- Strong background in machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, or computer vision.
- Experience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
- Demonstrated success in securing research funding and managing research budgets.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of AI methodologies, including supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and deep learning.
- Strong publication record in top-tier AI conferences or journals.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to foster innovation and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of AI ethics, data privacy, and regulations impacting AI research.
