- The Parts Manager will oversee the operations of the parts department for Commercial Vehicles (CV) within the dealership.
- This role involves managing the parts inventory, ensuring efficient and timely supply chain management, leading a team, and using dealership management software (DMS) to optimize parts operations.
- The ideal candidate should have experience in parts management, team leadership, and a strong understanding of DMS.
Requirements
Inventory Management:
○ Maintain and manage an optimal parts inventory to ensure the timely availability of necessary components.
○ Regularly review stock levels, reorder parts based on forecasted demand, and minimize excess inventory to control costs.
○ Implement inventory control processes and perform periodic audits to ensure accurate stock counts.
○ Manage returns and warranty claims for defective or obsolete parts.
Dealership Management Software(DMS) :
○ Utilize DMS to manage the ordering, tracking, and distribution of parts efficiently.
○ Ensure that all transactions, records, and reports related to parts are accurately captured in the DMS.
○ Work with the service and sales departments to coordinate the availability of parts for vehicle repairs and sales.
Supplier & Vendor Management:
○ Build and maintain strong relationships with and other suppliers to ensure favorable terms, timely delivery, and quality of parts.
○ Negotiate with suppliers for the best pricing and manage vendor agreements.
○ Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delayed or incorrect deliveries.
Team Leadership & Management:
○ Lead, train,
and supervise the parts department team to meet operational goals and ensure high customer satisfaction.
○ Assign tasks, set performance targets, and provide ongoing coaching to staff.
○ Monitor team performance, conduct regular reviews, and foster a positive work environment.
Customer Service:
○ Provide excellent customer service by ensuring parts are available in a timely manner for both internal departments and external customers.
○ Address any issues or complaints related to parts availability, quality, or pricing.
○ Ensure that all customer orders and requests are processed efficiently and accurately.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
○ Develop and track key performance metrics for the parts department, including fill rate, turnover, and profitability.
○ Prepare and present regular reports to senior management regarding department performance, inventory status, and financials.
○ Use data-driven insights to make decisions that optimize operations and increase profitability.
Compliance & Safety:
○ Ensure compliance with all dealership policies and procedures, especially regarding inventory control, safety standards, and workplace regulations.
○ Maintain a clean and organized parts department, ensuring that safety protocols are followed.
