Medical Coder

An HCC coder, or hospital coding specialist, helps healthcare facilities maintain accurate patient records and send correct bills. Their responsibilities may include:

- Reviewing medical records: Ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation and coding for claims

Communicating with providers: When documentation is unclear or inadequate for coding, they may need to contact providers

- Maintaining treatment outcome records: Keeping records of treatment outcomes

Maintaining confidentiality: They are responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality

- Coding conditions and procedures: Accurately coding conditions and procedures according to the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting for Hospital Departments

Assigning codes:





Using an electronic encoder application to assign codes in accordance with guidelines and practice policy

- Acting as a resource: Providing coding resources for medical staff and team members, ensuring compliance with guideline

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Freelance

Experience:
