Job Title: Linux Cloud Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Linux Cloud Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing cloud infrastructure, supporting Linux environments, and troubleshooting complex issues. Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux-based cloud servers and virtual machines on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance, availability,
and security.
- Provide Level 2 support for Veritas, handling build, operations, and patching activities.
- System Administration:
- Perform day-to-day Linux server administration, including user management, system updates, and software installations.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
- Troubleshooting & Support:
- Provide Level 2 support for escalated issues related to Linux servers and cloud services.
- Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including performance bottlenecks and connectivity problems.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux servers and cloud environments.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry regulations.
- Performance Optimization:
- Optimize system performance and resource utilization for Linux servers and cloud resources.
- Perform capacity planning and scaling to meet growing business needs.
- Backup & Recovery:
- Manage and verify backup and recovery processes for Linux servers.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Generate and review performance reports and logs.
- Collaboration & Training:
- Work closely with other IT teams, such as network and application teams, to ensure seamless integration of services.
- Provide training and support to junior engineers and other team members.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in Linux system administration and cloud computing.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure,
Google Cloud).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure services (e.g., EC2, S3, Azure VMs, Google Compute Engine).
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Nagios, Splunk, Grafana).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Administrator Associate are preferred.
