We are seeking an individual with outstanding team, interpersonal, and project management abilities to develop strategies and lead a dynamic team consisting of Editors, Proofreaders, and Editorial Assistants.
The role also entails supervising and performing tasks related to quality management.

Key responsibilitiesPerform quality audits on the work completed by editors, proofreaders, and editorial assistantsUtilize a hands-on approach to manage the overall team and tasks efficientlyMonitor individual KPIs to ensure timely task completion and share performance reportsMonitor team performance and share monthly team metrics and quality reportsManage special, high-stakes projects from beginning to end, as neededAnalyze overall team capacity and, if necessary, collaborate with HR to plan and communicate recruitment targets, and oversee the onboarding processParticipate in team strategy planning for each fiscal year and ensure implementation, tracking progress, and sharing updates with management regularlyIdentify opportunities to streamline existing processes, implement changes at a team level,
and ensure all relevant documentation is updatedConduct regular team meetings for knowledge sharing, brainstorming, and team building.Stay updated on conferences/seminars relevant to the industry where editors, proofreaders, editorial assistants, team leads, and/or oneself could participate, and plan subsequent actions to broaden exposureEstablish comprehensive training systems for in-house editors in collaboration with the Training Team
Skills requiredAcademic editing/quality analyst experienceExcellent people management, communication,
and influencing skills at a senior levelExcellent spoken and written English skillsAbility to manage and influence key stakeholdersCandidates with prior experience in the academic publishing industry will be preferredEffective time management skillsAbility to work in a deadline-driven environmentPassion toward ensuring client delightExcellent client focusMentoring/training/coaching abilitiesPassionate about learning while working with languageAbility to take on responsibilities beyond defined role
Desired Candidate ProfileGraduate and above degree in any stream2+ years’ experience in academic editing/publishing/language services/R&D;/e-Learning1+ years’ experience in handling a mid- to large-size teamEffective editing, writing, and communication skillsExtreme attention to detail and readiness to learn constantlyGood understanding of MISProficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, & PPT)
Preference will be given to candidates who haveKnowledge of the STEM industryExperience in working with academic editing companies, journals, and/or publishersExperience in 2 or more of these functions in the academic publishing realm: editing, manuscript quality checks, editorial training, complaints management, and client satisfaction
