Job Overview
The Senior Data Scientist will lead efforts to leverage advanced data analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling techniques to solve complex business challenges and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. As a senior team member, you will mentor junior data scientists, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop solutions that have a high impact on the business strategy, product innovation, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning
? Lead the development and implementation of advanced predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analyses to improve business outcomes such as customer acquisition,
product recommendations, demand forecasting, and operational efficiencies.
? Design, prototype, and validate models using various techniques including supervised and unsupervised learning, time series forecasting, clustering, and deep learning.
? Drive the integration of machine learning models into production systems in collaboration with data engineering and IT teams.
2. Strategic Data Insights
? Translate complex data into actionable business insights that inform strategic decisions across departments like marketing, finance, operations, and product development.
? Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify trends, customer behaviors, and opportunities for growth.
? Present and communicate findings effectively to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
3. Mentorship & Leadership
? Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, providing guidance on projects, best practices, and professional development.
? Lead cross-functional project teams, setting direction, managing timelines,
and ensuring successful project outcomes.
? Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the data science team.
4. Collaboration with Business Units
? Partner with key stakeholders across the business to identify high-impact data-driven opportunities and develop tailored solutions.
? Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other teams to define project requirements and deliver measurable business outcomes.
? Work with the analytics team to establish clear KPIs and data-driven strategies for growth.
5. Data Governance & Infrastructure
? Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and quality through proper governance practices and infrastructure development in collaboration with the IT and data engineering teams.
? Develop scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support large-scale data processing and model deployment.
? Stay updated on the latest advancements in data science tools and techniques, integrating cutting-edge methodologies into the organization's data strategy.
6. Innovation & Thought Leadership
? Identify and experiment with new tools, technologies, and methodologies to advance the company's analytics capabilities.
? Contribute to data science best practices, staying at the forefront of industry trends and innovations.
? Represent the organization at industry conferences and forums, sharing insights and strategies related to data science and machine learning.
Required Qualifications
1. Education
? Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics,
Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field from IIT/NIIT.
? Advanced certifications in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence are preferred.
2. Experience
? 5-7 years of experience as a Data Scientist with a proven track record of building and deploying machine learning models that drive business value.
? Experience in leading large-scale data science projects from ideation through execution and deployment.
? Strong background in statistics, machine learning, and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
3. Technical Skills
? Expert-level proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and model development.
? Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience in working with large-scale databases.
? Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) for deploying machine learning models and managing large datasets.
? Hands-on experience with advanced analytics tools and libraries (e.g., Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, XGBoost).
? Proficiency in data visualization and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or D3.js.
4. Soft Skills
? Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and mentor junior staff.
? Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to structure complex data challenges into actionable insights.
? Outstanding communication skills,
with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
? High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality in data analysis.
