What You'll Do:Play a central role in the conception, design, and implementation of UX/UI components within our Design System, integrating design tokens / Resolvers to ensure visual and interaction consistency.
Establish and guide the visual and interaction design standards for components, ensuring their usability and accessibility across all platforms and devices. Work closely with UX/UI designers, frontend engineers, product management, and the token architect to ensure a coherent and scalable component design language. Leverage design tokens in component design to enhance efficiency, maintain design consistency, and facilitate the seamless handover of designs into code, ensuring developers can implement the designs with precision.
Champion user-centric design principles and methodologies, influencing the design of components to optimize the user experience. Lead the component design review process, providing constructive feedback and direction to designers in the team. Train and guide designers and developers about the usage, customization,and implementation of design components, design tokens, and the technical aspects required for a smooth transition from design to development, including API integration within components.
Influence the evolution of our Design System by bringing new insights, pioneering practices, and methods to improve our component design to meet the needs of designers and engineers. Ensure that all design components are easily translatable into code, with a keen focus on API integrations within components, to foster efficient collaboration between design and development teams. You Are:You have at least 8+ years of strong hands-on experience as a UX/UI Designer, Component Designer, or a similar role in a fast-paced organization.
Multiple years of demonstrated experience working on large-scale design systems, particularly in creating, managing, and implementing UX/UI components and design tokens.
Proficient in the practical aspects of handing over designs to developers, with an in-depth understanding of how components are implemented in code, including API integration and the use of modern coding practices. Deep understanding of modern UX/UI principles, user-centered design, design tokens, and prototyping tools such as Figma or Panpote. Experience working in a cross-functional team together with product management, designers, and engineers.
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English, with the ability to confidently present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Flexibility to work in ambiguous situations, create clarity without direction, and define UX/UI component standards and best practices from the ground up. Strong knowledge of user interfaces, with an eye for aesthetic detail and usability.
Ability to learn quickly, iterate, unblock yourself, and persist until the right problem is solved. You understand and live agile workflows and lean principles in your day-today work. We'd Particularly Love
It If:You have a portfolio showcasing your ability to design and manage UX/UI components, design tokens in large design systems, and demonstrate howthese components can be seamlessly integrated into the development workflows. You have experience with open source or standards development.
You have experience mentoring or leading a team of designers.
You have a deep understanding of accessibility and how to design components that cater to a wide range of users. You're proficient in implementing design components in code using modern front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or CSS-in-JS libraries, with a strong focus on integrating APIs within components.
