Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Consultant specializing in tax filings for U.S.-based Non-Resident Indians (NRIs). The ideal candidate will bring expert knowledge of the U.S. tax code, particularly as it applies to NRIs, along with a strong understanding of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) between the U.S. and India.
Key Responsibilities: -
• Tax Compliance & Filing: In-depth knowledge of PFIC and FBAR o Provide federal and state tax preparation services for NRI clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. tax laws and IRS requirements. o Guide clients on minimizing tax liabilities using provisions from the DTAA, relevant tax treaties, and applicable credits.
• DTAA Advisory & Consultation: Offer in-depth consultations on DTAA benefits to help clients minimize double taxation. Advise on applicable tax credits, deductions, and exemptions, including passive income,
capital gains, and foreign tax credits.
• Client Support: Assist clients with IRS inquiries and audits, providing support for tax notices and required documentation. Offer guidance on reporting requirements for foreign assets, income, and FATCA compliance.
• Strategic Tax Planning: Develop tailored tax strategies for clients, covering topics like 401k withdrawals, retirement income, estate planning, and other cross-border tax needs. o Stay updated on U.S. and Indian tax policies and assess their implications for U.S.-based NRIs.
Qualifications:
• Active CPA license.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience handling U.S. tax filings for NRIs, with a focus on cross-border tax considerations.
• Strong knowledge of the U.S.-India DTAA and its tax implications.
• Familiarity with IRS regulations, including FATCA reporting and foreign asset compliance.
• Proficiency in tax preparation software and MS Office Suite.
