Job Description: Tableau Developer (Azure, AWS Redshift, with Pharma experience)

About the Role

Workhours – Should be able to support US (LA time zone. PST/PDT) time zone

We are seeking a highly skilled Tableau Developer with a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of interactive data dashboards.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Tableau, coupled with hands-on experience working with Azure and AWS Redshift (The latter is mandatory, the former good to have). This role will involve collaborating with data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders within the pharma commercial, prescription and brand analytics domains to create compelling and insightful data visualizations that drive informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Tableau Development:






- Design, develop, and maintain complex Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations tailored to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Utilize Tableau's advanced features, including calculated fields, parameters, filters, and storytelling techniques to address specific pharma data challenges.
- Optimize Tableau performance and scalability for large pharmaceutical datasets.
- Collaborate with data analysts to understand pharma-specific business requirements and translate them into effective visualizations.
- Cloud Platform Integration:
- Integrate Tableau with Azure and AWS Redshift data sources within a pharmaceutical context. Good to have worked with Veeva, Salesforce data in the past
- Develop efficient data extraction, transformation,





and loading (ETL) pipelines using Azure Data Factory or similar tools, considering pharma data compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Manage data security and access controls within the cloud environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues related to cloud-based pharmaceutical data sources.
- Data Visualization Best Practices:
- Adhere to industry best practices for data visualization design and storytelling.
- Ensure that visualizations are visually appealing, easy to understand, and provide actionable insights.
- Maintain data accuracy and integrity throughout the visualization process, considering pharma data quality standards.
- Collaboration and Communication:






- Work closely with cross-functional teams within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to a collaborative and positive team environment.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. (Customizable. Don’t consider this hard and fast)
- Proven experience as a Tableau Developer with a strong understanding of Tableau's features and capabilities.
- Hands-on experience working with Azure and AWS Redshift, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and cloud infrastructure in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficiency in SQL and data querying languages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, applied to pharmaceutical data.






- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a pharmaceutical setting.
- Good to have:
- Experience of working on other visualization tools such as Qlik or Power BI
- Knowledge of Python for data analysis, wrangling for automation tasks
- Experience with data governance and compliance best practices in the pharma industry

o Familiarity with pharma-specific data standards and regulations (e.g., GxP, HIPAA).
