Orb Connect aims to provide a last-mile broadband solution to rural areas. We intend to deploy a millimetre wave backhaul with integrated access and backhaul techniques in remote areas where the implementation of optic fibre might be costly and complex.

Role Description

This is a paid remote internship role for a Research and Development Intern at Orb Connect.

- The intern will join a rural network planning tool development project that designs millimetre wave backhaul networks in some rural regions considering the existing infrastructure, geographic conditions, hardware specifications, system performance, cost and budget.
- The intern is expected to be skilful in MATLAB (especially app design),





where the rural network planning tool is developed.
- The intern is also expected to be skilful in tools like JavaScript programming and Google Maps APIs, through which we obtain up-to-date data for network designing.
- The intern is expected to have a thorough knowledge of the wireless communication area, which is the key to network design.
- The intern should be able to communicate with the team frequently and effectively and make adjustments accordingly.

Qualifications

- Research and Development (R&D;) experience
- Analytical Skills and attention to detail
- Excellent Communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent in multiple programming languages and platforms, including MATLAB and JavaScript
- Currently pursuing or recently completed projects in a related field
