Job Summary:
The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods. The role involves managing people, processes, and systems to ensure productivity targets are met and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly. This position requires strong leadership skills, an understanding of supply chain management, and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations Management:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction as the primary goal,
by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure high levels of productivity and accuracy.
- Inventory Control:
- Manage stock control and reconcile with the warehouse management system.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory and manage the resolution of discrepancies.
- Develop strategies to optimize inventory turnover and minimize excess stock.
- Team Management:
- Lead, manage, and develop warehouse staff, including recruiting, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and provide training and guidance to staff.
- Logistics Coordination:
- Coordinate with transportation companies to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods.
- Manage the return of damaged products and the disposal of excess or obsolete inventory.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance warehouse efficiency.
- Utilize data to monitor performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
