Department Description



Banking, Reconciliations & Control (BRC) is responsible for the receipt and payment of monies to / from investors / intermediaries and the reconciliation of cash and stock positions for Fidelity’s European based funds and FundsNetwork fund supermarket business. In addition, BRC includes the processing of fund distributions, tax & interest accrual processing and various other control related activities for Global Distribution Operations.



The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the regulatory agenda within BRC. This role is responsible for ensuring that client money regulations and controls on customer assets are adhered to and best practice standards are maintained across all activities, particularly in the protection of customer assets and client monies.



Purpose of the Role



The objective of this role is to support India BRC by providing the best possible service to our customers by responding appropriately to the changing regulatory framework and business priorities. By virtue of having in-depth knowledge of all related aspects of the process within the team, an individual in this role, as Manager, would be able to define and support customer centric solutions, with focus on cleaning up historic unclaimed balances in line with CASS requirements and implement processes to ensure they are dealt with promptly going forward. This will include working with teams across Global Distribution Operations and Client Services to ensure the customers receive their monies promptly.



Key Responsibilities



Leading the CASS related projects within PO&C; specifically related to clean up of unclaimed and unallocated balances

Ensure strong adherence to the client money regulations. Basic understanding of the FCA CASS Rules relating to Client Money and Assets and their protection is a prerequisite for this role.

Work with Internal Proposition / Development, Customer Services, Compliance, Legal, Risk and Technology teams to support and drive the culture of protection of client money and assets in full compliance with CASS.

Analysis of various data sets required for business decisions, regulatory reporting and management information.

Support and manage all internal and external compliance and audit reviews, with particular reference to all audits pertaining to CASS.

Strong focus on all elements of regulatory reporting including the regulatory CMAR, FCA weekly reporting etc.

Contribute to projects and provide general, technical support related to the oversight of the firm’s operational compliance with CASS.

Advising teams on CASS issues and providing assurance over existing processes and process improvements being driven by BRC.



Experience and Qualifications Required



With 10+ years of experience in Operations and Projects

B. Com or an equivalent bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, preferably in finance and accounting.

Spent at least 18 months in the current role. A good understanding of the FCA Client Money regulations is an added advantage.

Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel (including Macros), PowerPoint and Power BI.

Analytical skills with an attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Good presentation skills are a must.

Ability to remain highly motivated, focused towards the key measurements and adaptable.

A flexible approach with an ability to work with other workgroups in the organisation split across different geography and cultures.

Ability to do multi task effectively, prioritise and organise effectively to ensure deadlines are met.
