- Design CMDB Data model based on requirements across all the CI/Asset classes
- Define various Asset/CI classes/subclasses based using Industry best practices
- Define relationships between Asset and CI Classes
- Help defining detailed list of attributes for each CI classes
- Recommend, design, plan automation to improve the configuration management database (CMDB) processes
- Supports the team in putting together a plan for configuration audits and reconciliation
- Works with other ITSM processes to understand new requirements and identify how Configuration management can support
- Ensures the discovery applications are functioning correctly to integrate data to support registration of new Assets / Configuration Items (CIs)
- Supports to creation and maintenance of proper relationships as defined in the agreed Configuration Models; this includes (but is not limited to) people, IT components, and contracts
- Assist in the Audits of the CMDB as planned in the Audit Schedule to ensure accuracy – via physical or auto-scans; proactively identifying discrepancies and driving same to closure to maintain accuracy of the CMDB and enforce SACM / Change Management process and policies
- Support the team in conducting Quality Assurance over the discovery component of Configuration Management / CMDB process and policies
- Support the team in SACM/CMDB Service Level Agreement reporting, both operational and ad-hoc reports as required and agreed
- Follows and champions SACM, Configuration Management and CMDB process & technology standards
- Works closely within SACM and with Change Managers to ensure that CI changes / updates are reflected in the CMDB in a timely manner from Discovery integration
- Supports/maintains proper relationships as defined in the SACM processes; this includes (but is not limited to) Services, IT components, and other required relationships
- Support the team in conducting Quality Assurance process and policy reviews
- Provides CMDB and Configuration Management Discovery related experience leadership including training, mentoring & staff augmentation
- Builds customer relationships by delivering above client expectations on assigned deliverables and accountable for proactively identifying & winning add on work and identifying cross functional leads
Required Skills:
- Fundamental knowledge and experience with ITIL
- A general knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, networking, cloud, end user computing, and applications
- Familiar with the processes that consume CMDB data e.g. Incident,
Problem, SDLC, Asset, and Change
- Working knowledge of service management principles including management and understanding of relationship types of configuration items (CIs) with a configuration management database (CMDB) including experience with leading ITSM tools
- Proficient in developing and implementing configuration management processes.
- Technical writing skills (Lucidcharts, processes, procedures)
